I’ve always collected things… maybe not expensive or interesting, just THINGS. My largest collection is of business cards, which i’ve been collecting since I was 9. they are all at my parent’s house, I have thousands.
Then, at the age of 10, it was Troll Dolls. I thought they were expensive back then, (what, $4 or $5 bucks?) but I had about 20. Every time my grandma gave me money, it went to troll dolls. I still have them all in my parent’s attic.
Then, not much else…for a long time. Once I started making my own money, it all went to clothes and shoes… and it stayed that way for a long time. Even through college, when I didn’t have enough money to eat, I bought clothes. I was an idiot.
Now I collect Blythe dolls, beer bottle caps (for an art project for my future children, OF COURSE), tons of yarn that I will probably never use up, and now, finally…
RUSSIAN STACKING DOLLS!
I just got two new sets that I ordered from eBay. They are sitting in my office with me, whispering in Russian. I can’t understand them, but I think they’re talking about my poor work ethic.
I actually made chocolate chip cookies last night from scratch! I never do that. They turned out yummy, except the first batch was burnt to a crisp. arg. Our oven gets way too hot, and I hadn’t even had them in HALF the correct amount of time when I started to smell burning. Oh well! Now i’m a pro at whipping up cookie dough!
I know biking is so good for you, and I really REALLY enjoy it, but I am really hurting today! We rode approximately 20 miles, and i’m used to doing about, oh, 5. I want to keep going on longer rides to get myself in better shape, but MAN, I am in a lot of pain. Mostly my back and shoulders, surprisingly my legs aren’t hurting at all.
Growing up, I was used to riding hills, but after living in Brooklyn, I got used to mostly flat terrain. Yesterday we rode in Staten Island and yes, there are hills there! It feels good to know that I can do it, though!
So, most of you know about my face slash from mike’s fishing lure while we were camping. Well, today I bent my middle fingernail backwards from halfway up the nail (it bled) and also this morning mike elbowed me in the lip in his sleep and i have a puffy lip.
After the wake and funeral of my grandmother, my immediate family is taking our annual camping trip to the Adirondacks. I think we could all use some fresh air and time alone with eachother! I am so beat. See you all friday…
